Rod Coyne was born in Dun Laoghaire and studied at the Crawford College of Art in Cork. After 10 years working in his studio in Germany, he returned to Ireland in 1999 and had his first irish solo show exhibition in Origin Gallery, Dublin.
The artist exhibits extensively in Ireland and abroad including the RHA, RUA, Solomon Gallery, London, Europe and the USA. His paintings can be found in both public and corporate collections alike, most recently Bank of Ireland, Department of Justice, OPW and Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin.
2008 has started strong with the artist showing at the Central Bank, Dublin and an invitation to the international artists retreat Cill Rialaig Co. Kerry.
Rod now lives and works in Co. Wicklow where he founded his studio/gallery in the Vale of Avoca.
