Please join us for the opening reception for Niall Naessens, on Thursday 13th of November at 7pm in Dalkey Arts Gallery, located at 19 Railway Road, Dalkey.
This recent collection of Niall Naessens' work is a collection of etchings and paintings influenced by the local scenery of South Dublin and the changeable weather. Most of the work in the show is sourced from within walking distance of the Gallery. As well as new material, Naessens has worked from drawings done up to fifteen years ago. During a couple of days of low lying sea fog his attention was turned to the forest parkland on Dalkey Hill, resulting in a third of the work being forest landscapes.
Niall Naessens was born in Dublin in 1961. He attended the National College of Art & Design from 1978 to 1983 and studied etching at the Graphic Studio Print Workshop. From 1991 to date he has worked as a professional printmaker at the Graphic Studio Workshop in Dublin. In 2004 he moved to Brandon in Kerry and set up his studio there with a view to concentrating more on painting.
All works are available to purchase and can be viewed prior to the exhibition on our website at www.dalkeyarts.com.
The exhibition will run until the end of November and is free to the public.
